HDR Core Drill Bits

Goldream has recently unveiled an advanced line of diamond bits designed for challenging environments, including hot dry rock (HDR) drilling, deep-sea exploration, geothermal projects, and high-temperature, high-pressure conditions in oil fields. These state-of-the-art drill bits, featuring both natural and artificial diamonds, underwent rigorous testing, showcasing an impressive strength of 335N/mm² (for reference, standard oil drills operate at 5-15 N/mm² under normal conditions).

The success story continues with HDR drill bits proving their mettle in real-world scenarios. Picture this: seamlessly coring hot dry rock below 3200 meters in the Gonghe Basin, Qinghai Province, China, where subterranean temperatures soar above 210 degrees Celsius. Additionally, these cutting-edge bits have excelled in high-temperature well drilling in the Daqing oilfield.

The test results and practical applications affirm that our high-temperature drill bits have effectively met the stringent requirements for these specialised operations, marking a significant advancement in drilling technology.

Reaming Shells

Reaming shells play a crucial role in maintaining hole gauge and stabilizing core barrels when positioned behind the core bit. This strategic placement ensures optimal conditions for inserting a new core bit into a continuous borehole, minimizing the need for reaming. Our robust reaming shells are engineered to withstand challenging drilling environments, crafted with thermally stable polycrystalline diamond (PCD).

The surface set type reaming shells feature thermally stable polycrystalline diamond pads strategically set on the surface in a pre-designed pattern. This arrangement effectively prevents wear of the reaming shell, enhancing durability and longevity in demanding drilling operations.
